Children in year 5 and 6 chose to make pizzas for their apprentice challenge as they have been learning about fractions.
They used their knowledge of mixed and improper fractions to work out that they needed at least 5 pizzas, cut into quarters (to be sold for £1) to make the £20 back. Any pizza sold after that would be a profit.
After buying the ingredients, children worked out that they could make 13 pizzas which would make them £60 in total and a £40 profit
